Violent crime goes up in West Berkshire

West Berkshire has seen an increase of violence against person offences.
Last year, 2,726 crimes were reported, rising to 3,307 in the last 12 months.
There has been a decrease in the number of GBH or serious assaults reported in West Berkshire.
Police say three incidents were reported compared to six the previous year.
A report to West Berkshire Council's overview and scrutiny committee says 45 knife crimes were recorded in 2021/22 compared to 68 the previous year.
