Thirty-eight roads have been machine-patched across the district and made good in advance of micro-asphalt surfacing, a cold-applied, bituminous cement that should improve substantially the durability of the roads treated.
A total of 15km of road will be treated, which is in addition to 50km of surface dressing undertaken earlier this year.
This is part of the council's £3.5m highways improvement programme which will include machine-patching of a number of other roads during 2012.
