Morrison's manager boats up canal for charity relay

Jay Patel did his part in the 334 mile race for the Sue Ryder charity that connected all fifteen Morrison’s M local stores within the South West region.
On the fifth stage of the race that began in Plymouth at 8.30am Mr Patel used a canal boat for the 20-mile stint from Newbury.
He said: “We hope our relay race raised significant funds for Sue Ryder’s vital community care and support in the South West. Thank you to everyone who has made such generous donations so far.
“I was pretty nervous. Colleagues and the general public kept me going during my leg.”
The Newbury store raised £500 for the charity and collectively all stores across the South West raised over £8,000. Sue Ryder establishes new community services, family support teams and online community support across the UK.
