Reading Magistrates' Court: Burghfield Common mother admits The Willink School child truancy offence




A MOTHER has admitted failing to ensure her truant child attended school regularly.

In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Friday, February 4, was Rebecca Smith of Pinchcut, Burghfield Common.

The 40-year-old admitted being the mother of a child of compulsory school age who failed to attend The Willink School in Burghfield Common regularly between May 3 and October 15 last year.

Magistrates adjourned sentencing until a later date and meanwhile asked for more information about the case from West Berkshire Council, the education authority which brought the case.
