Reading Magistrates' Court: Burghfield Common mother convicted over child truancy at The Willink School
A mother has been convicted in her absence of failing to ensure her child attended school regularly.
Lisa Farmer had been due to answer the charge, brought by West Berkshire Council, at Reading Magistrates' Court on Friday, February 4.
But Ms Farmer, of Hunters Hill, Burghfield Common, did not turn up and the case against her was found proved in her absence.
Specifically, Ms Farmer was convicted of being the parent of a child of compulsory school age who failed to attend regularly at The Willink School, Burghfield Common, between May 3 and October 15 last year.
Magistrates adjourned the case so Ms Farmer could be required to attend court for sentencing at a later date.
