Mother of missing Charles Knight renews appeal for information one year after his disappearance
The mother of missing Charles Knight has renewed her appeal for information a year after his disappearance.
Mr Knight, now 31, was last seen leaving his parents’ house in Burghclere at around 8.30am exactly a year ago on February 17.
Despite Hampshire Police conducting extensive searches and investigations, there has been no sight of him since.
A year on, Mr Knight’s mother Belinda Hooper has thanked friends and family for their ongoing support and is urging people with information to come forward.
She said: “I would like to thank friends and family for their ongoing help, support and interest.
“It has been a year since Charlie went missing, and I want to appeal to anyone who may have any new information on his whereabouts to come forward.
“The last year has been difficult, and it gets harder every day not knowing where he is or if he is okay.”
Mr Knight, from Basingstoke, is described as white with tanned skin, approximately 5ft 8ins tall, slim, with dark hair and a beard.
He also has a number of tattoos on his arms and hands.
Mr Knight was last seen wearing a green jacket, green cap, black trousers and walking boots.
The investigation is now being led by Hampshire Constabulary’s Missing and Exploited Team, which leads on long-term missing person investigations.
The case remains open, and the force said it will be subject to regular review and any new lines of enquiry will be followed up.
A specialist officer is in regular contact with Mr Knight’s family to inform them of any updates.
A police spokesperson said: “We would like to continue to encourage the local community to report any new information or anything untoward to us.
“If you do see anything that may be connected to Charles, please call us straight away.
“If anyone has any new information, they can call us on 101, quoting the reference number 44210059947, or report it via our website https://www.hampshire.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/cor/tell-us-about-existing-case-report/
