Remembering mothers at West Berkshire Crematorium
West Berkshire Crematorium is inviting local families to pay tribute to their mothers next month.
On Saturday, March 18, community members are invited to visit the Thatcham crematorium's chapel between 10am and noon for a moment of quiet contemplation, with reflective music playing.
Visitors can collect commemorative flowers to place on their loved one's memorial or take these home with them across the whole weekend – though the crematorium chapel is not open on Sunday.
Visitors can also write personal messages to their loved ones on memory tags.
"Mother's Day can be a particularly poignant time for those who have lost their mum or mother-figure, or for mothers who have been bereaved of a child," said site manager Stephanie Langford.
"We are inviting local families to visit us during this period to have a moment of reflection within our chapel and beautiful grounds.
"We hope that visiting us will bring comfort to anyone who needs it during this special time of the year."
West Berkshire Crematorium is part of Westerleigh Group, the UK's largest owner and operator of crematoria and cemeteries — with 37 sites in England, Scotland and Wales — all set within landscaped gardens of remembrance providing peaceful settings for visitors to reflect.
