Theale man Matthew Edmonds caught drink-driving in Calcot




A MOTORIST drank almost two-and-a-half times the legal limit before driving.

Matthew Edmonds appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, July 29.

The 38-year-old, of Leonard Court, off James Butcher Drive in Theale, admitted driving a Ford Escort on the A4 Bath Road in Calcot on July 12 after drinking more than the legal limit.

Tests showed 78mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system.

The legal limit is 35mcg.

Edmonds, who was legally represented by Jeremy Yuille, was fined £120.

In addition, he was ordered to pay £85 costs, plus a statutory victim services surcharge of £48.

Finally, Edmonds was banned from driving for 20 months.
