Thatcham man Martin Pearcey caught drug-driving





A MOTORIST was caught behind the wheel after taking cocaine.

Martin Pearcey appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, October 17.

The 44-year-old, of Paynesdown Road, Thatcham, admitted driving a Honda Civic on the A4 Benham Hill on Wednesday, April 12, when the amount of a metabolite of cocaine, a Class A controlled drug, in his system exceeded the prescribed limit.

Mr Pearcey, who was legally represented at the hearing by Luis Williamson, was fined £350.

In addition he was ordered to pay £85 costs plus a statutory victim services surcharge of £140.

Finally, Mr Pearcey was banned from driving for 12 months.
