Reading Magistrates' Court: Greenham motorist denies drug-driving

A MAN has denied driving after taking the mind-bending drug ketamine.

In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, October 4, was Stanley Ash.

The 24-year-old, of Greyberry Copse Road, Greenham, is accused of driving a Mercedes E220 on Martingale Chase in Newbury on Tuesday, March 15, when the amount of the Class B-controlled drug – a dissociative anaesthetic which can cause hallucinations – in his system exceeded the specified limit.

Mr Ash, who was legally represented by Adonis Daniel, spoke only to confirm his details and to plead not guilty to the single charge.

He was told the case could proceed no further that day and the proceedings were adjourned for a trial to be arranged.

Mr Ash was meanwhile granted unconditional bail.
