Reading Magistrates’ Court: Newbury motorist drank nearly three times limit




A MOTORIST was caught behind the wheel after drinking almost three times the legal limit.

Dumitru Aungurenci appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, July 5.

The 48-year-old, of Redfield Court, Newbury, admitted driving a green Volkswagen Passat in Newbury on Monday, May 22, after drinking more than the legal limit.

Tests showed 102mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system.

The legal limit is 35mcg.

District judge Samuel Goozee made Mr Aungurenci subject to a 12-month community order with the requirement that he complete 120 hours of unpaid community work.

In addition, he was ordered to pay £85 costs, plus a statutory victim services surcharge of £114.

Finally, Mr Aungurenci was banned from driving for two years.
