Reading Magistrates' Court: Hungerford man caught drug-driving
A HUNGERFORD motorist was caught behind the wheel with a mixture of illegal drugs in his system.
The 25-year-old had taken both cocaine and the mind-bending dissociative anaesthetic, ketamine.
In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, June 8, was Ashley Jessop.
The 25-year-old, of Wessex Close, admitted driving a Land Rover Discovery on Church Street, Hungerford, on December 6 last year when the proportion of the Class A-controlled drug cocaine in his system exceeded the specified limit.
He further admitted driving when the Class B-controlled drug ketamine, along with a cocaine metabolite, in his system exceeded the specified limit on the same occasion.
Mr Jessop was made subject to a 12-month community order and required to complete 120 hours of unpaid community work.
In addition, he was ordered to pay £85 costs, plus a statutory victim services surcharge of £95.
Finally, Mr Jessop was banned from driving for two years.
