Reading Magistrates' Court: Former Hungerford motorist has alcohol charge dropped
A MAN accused of being in charge of a vehicle after drinking more than twice the legal limit has been told the charge was dismissed.
Luke Medlin appeared at Reading Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, February 22.
During a previous court appearance the 20-year-old, who was living at Church Way, Hungerford, had denied being in charge of a Ford Fiesta on Cheap Street in Newbury on Sunday, April 10, when the amount of alcohol in his system exceeded the legal limit.
Tests are said to have shown 80mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system – more than twice the legal limit of 35mcg.
But at Wednesday's hearing Mr Medlin, who has reportedly moved to Young Crescent in Greenham, and who was legally represented by Catherine Brymer, was told the prosecution would be offering no evidence.
The charge was formally dismissed.
