Motorists advised to avoid A34 following earlier crash

An accident involving two coaches and a car on the A34 near Litchfield has caused delays for motorists today (Friday)

MOTORISTS are being advised to avoid the A34 this afternoon (Friday) following an earlier accident involving two coaches and a car.

Emergency services were called to the scene near Litchfield at about 11.45am after an accident on the southbound carriageway.

A woman was taken by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital with serious injuries and although an air ambulance was called, it was not required.

The accident has however caused delays for many motorists with closures in place on the A34.

Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes, if at all possible, with diversions in place for motorists to instead use the A303 and A343 for Andover and the B4640 and A339 near Newbury.
