Move over Barack, there's a new boss in town
Mr Benyon was at the Pacific Islands Forum in the Cook Islands as a delegate of the UK, which is a dialogue partner to the member states.
The annual forum is held to strengthen ties between the independent countries of the Pacific Ocean, and bring awareness of global issues such as climate change.
He said the former first lady Mrs Clinton arrived in style, stepping off Airforce Two with her entourage in tow.
“I sat next to her and had a fascinating chat across a range of issues, some political and some not,” he said.
“The Pacific contains some of the most remote and environmentally fragile island states. Climate change can still seem a remote concept to many people in the UK. In the Pacific they are absolutely on the front line.”
