Multi vehicle collision on A34 near Newbury





According to Phil Knight, the manager of White Watch at Newbury Fire Station, several cars are involved.
An eye witness reports that the road is blocked, due to the incident, with long queues of traffic.

UPDATE 9.55am
According to the South Central Ambulance Service, three vehicles were involved in the collision. One person was trapped in a vehicle.
One person with serious injuries was air lifted from the scene to the Great Western Hospital, Swindon and a second person was taken by ambulance to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
UPDATE 10.30am
According to Thames Valley Police, police were called at 8.17am to the incicent, involving a white Vauxhall combi van, a black Audi A3 and white Ford Transit van.
A full road closure was in place while emergency services dealt with the incident. One lane of the A34 has since re-opened northbound. Traffic was flowing southbound.
UPDATE 1PM
Police have confirmed the A34 northbound is now fully re-opened, with traffic tailbacks still in this area.
