Multinational opens new offices in business park
British engineering and project management company AMEC plc, supplies consultancy, engineering and project management services to clients in the world’s oil and gas, mining, clean energy, environment and infrastructure markets.
AMEC has recently moved several elements of its Southern UK business to the town and Newbury MP Richard Benyon officially opened the company’s new offices in Newbury Business Park on Friday, April 4.
The firm employs more than 29,000 people, and revenue last year reached £3,974m with a net income of £178 million last year.
After officially opening the new premises Mr Benyon said: “It is great to have such a renowned firm co-locating its business to Newbury, which can only be good for our local economy.
“The offices are state of the art and I was highly impressed with the staff, who are all undertaking highly complex engineering that keep the UK’s electricity supply flowing, helps our defence capability and grows our economy.”
