Music and reflections for Good Friday

The traditional Music and Reflections for Good Friday will take place at Douai Abbey at 8pm.
The music will include a rich setting of the Stabat Mater by Rheinberger, together with Lamentations and Responsories by Victoria, and the Vexillla Regis by Wingham.
The music will be sung by the Douai Abbey Singers, the lay choir of the Abbey, directed by John Rowntree, with the Kane Quartet and Michelle MacDonald, organ.
This year the Reflections will be given by the Bishop of Reading, the Rt Rev Andrew Proud. Bishop Proud returned to England in 2011 to become Bishop of Reading after serving the Anglican Church of Ethiopa for some nine years.
