Reading, Boomtown and Truck festivals near Newbury announce musical line ups for 2025
Several music festivals near Newbury have announced what bands, artists and DJs will be rocking the crowds next summer.
The ever-popular Reading Festival, which takes place at Little John’s Farm in Richfield Avenue from August 21 to 24, has moved on from its rock roots in recent years to offer a more diverse musical line up.
2025 will be no different, with singer-songwriter Hozier and pop superstar Chappell Roan both headlining the Friday night, and American hip-hop juggernaut Travis Scott taking the reins on Sunday.
British rock outfit Bring Me The Horizon will headline the Saturday night of the festival for the second time, after first doing it in 2022.
Other notable names to be playing Reading next year include Bloc Party, AJ Tracey, The Kooks, Becky Hill, Enter Shikari and Trippie Redd.
Boomtown released the first phase of its line up this morning (Friday) with several big names across the musical spectrum set to play the festival on the Matterley Estate near Winchester from August 6 to 10.
Punk legends the Sex Pistols will be playing featuring Frank Carter on vocals, as well as electronic duo Maribou State, Jamaican reggae and dancehall artist Sean Paul, dance group Rudimental and American rapper Azealia Banks.
The eclectic line up continues, with DJs such as Overmono, Hybrid Minds and Nia Archives set to perform, as well as bands such as Nova Twins, The Wailers and The Wurzels.
Truck Festival, which showcases the best of indie rock at Hill Farm in Oxfordshire from July 24 to 27, is back again with another blockbuster set of bands.
Celebrating 20 years since their debut album Silent Alarm, Bloc Party will be performing the album in full alongside their hits on Thursday night.
Nothing But Thieves (a UK exclusive festival performance), Kasabian and Courteeners are the rest of the weekend’s headliners.
Blossoms, The Last Dinner Party and Franz Ferdinand will also be playing Truck alongside the festival’s special guest Natasha Bedingfield.
Slightly further afield, Boardmasters in Newquay, Cornwall, has announced that pop singer Raye and rave legends The Prodigy will headline, with supporting slots coming from Nelly Furtado, London Grammar, Maribou State and Wet Leg.
Sting, Stereophonics and Justin Timberlake will headline next year’s Isle of Wight Festival, which takes plane from June 19 to 22.
Only one act has been officially confirmed for Glastonbury 2025, the country’s biggest music festival which will take place at Worthy Farm in Somerset from June 25 to June 29.
Rod Stewart will play the coveted Sunday afternoon legends slot, while disco visionary Nile Rodgers has also stated that he and his band Chic will be performing at some point on the weekend.
