My Newbury in pictures

Remember to send in your snaps to newburytoday@newburynews.co.uk marked 'My Newbury'

AN amateur photographer from Woolton Hill has created an artistic effect to his pictures of Newbury and Thatcham, using a fairly new genre in the photography field.

Pete Halewood specialises in High Dynamic Range (HDR) photography, which involves blending three exposures of the same scene together to create an artistic effect to the picture.

And he has sent in three pictures to the Newbury Weekly News this week, which show the sun setting in the town against a backdrop of the cranes at Parkway, a stunning shot of the Kennet and Avon Canal at West Mills and a recent spring evening at the Thatcham Nature Discovery Centre.

Other My Newbury submissions have come from Stephen Myers, who recently captured a pigeon perching on a bird bath in Baily Avenue, Thatcham and 11-year-old Thomas Lambourn, of Hungerford, who recently snapped a duck looking after its ducklings by the Kennet and Avon Canal.

If you have a photo you wish to share, send it to newburytoday@newburynews.co.uk marked ‘My Newbury' and we will feature it here online at www.newburytoday.co.uk, in the NWN and in The Advertiser.
