Newbury mum scoops top international business award




A Newbury mum has been recognised among the best women in business at a prestigious annual awards ceremony.

The winners of the Women’s Business Awards, hosted by the Women’s Business Club, were announced virtually and streamed in front of a live studio audience from Evenlode Film Studios in Cheltenham, with 300 finalists from 92 countries competing across 21 categories.

And mum of three Debbi Ledwith, principal of Razzamataz Theatre School in Newbury, scooped up the award for Business Mum of the Year for her dedication, creativity and outstanding impact in her field.

The school has been thriving since it opened launch in 2015 and the judges highlighted her selfless commitment as a key driver for its success. her

Reacting to the news, she said: “I just couldn’t believe it when I heard my name called out as the winner of this award.

“The category was really close to my heart as I have worked hard to achieve a good work-life balance to enable me to spend quality time with my children.

“I’m so proud of them and the fact that they also train at the school. It’s a real family business!”

Founder and CEO of Women’s Business Club Angela De Souza added: “There is nothing quite like celebrating the accomplishments of our businesswomen.

“This year, we received some truly outstanding entries, making the judges’ decisions incredibly challenging.

“While only one woman could win in each category, we believe that every entrant is a winner.
