National Rail issues with online ticket booking system

National Rail has reported issues with its online ticket booking system within the past hour.

There are further problems with its real-time information on a number of systems including journey planners, meaning some systems may not be showing correct real time information.

The company assures customers that those unable to purchase a ticket before boarding this morning can purchase their ticket onboard.

"We are experiencing some issues this morning with our online systems. Customers are advised to purchase tickets at ticket offices and onboard this morning," reads an online statement by National Rail.

The company says the issue is being investigated and will be resolved as soon as possible.
