Thames Valley Police Hungerford neighbourhood team: May update
POLICE are trying to identify youngsters who caused damage to nets at Hungerford Cricket Club, town councillors heard during a monthly update from the neighbourhood team.
The report, given to a full town council meeting on Tuesday night, May 3, stated: "Approximately eight youngsters were spotted jumping on the nets as if they were a trampoline.
"Lines of enquiry are currently be looked at to see if these youngsters can be identified."
In addition, there have been two other reports of criminal damage in the town during the past month.
There have also been four reported instances of shoplifting and five reports of antisocial behaviour.
The report also announced: "The majority of the team have now re-located back to Newbury Police Station – leaving only two PCSOs based at Hungerford TRI Station.
"The whole team will eventually be back at Newbury as the move was only temporary during the pandemic."
