New buildings for Chieveley school

Pupils celebrate new classroom, library and ICT area

CHIEVELEY Primary School has cut the ribbon on its new school buildings.

A ceremony on Friday (2) marked the grand opening of the new facilities, which include a new classroom block, library and ICT area.

The project was completed in October and staff and children are already enjoying the new facilities.

Some of the old modular classrooms and 1960's extensions to the School Road premises were also demolished to allow an extension and refurbishment of the school hall and Victorian building to provide a resource room, changing rooms, and staff and administration areas.

The headteacher Linda Wood said: ”We are all delighted with the new classroom block. Both the staff and the children are really enjoying this much improved learning space."

The children's centre for Chieveley and area is now based at Chieveley School and is supporting families with children aged nought to five.
