New business park for Theale?

The Usherwood Centre site in Station Road has become the subject of a proposed regeneration bid

THEALE could soon be welcoming another business park.

The Usherwood Centre site in Station Road has become the subject of a proposed regeneration bid, with the former data storage units currently at the park, dormant for several years, to be demolished and replaced by five new buildings containing 22 units.

A planning application has been submitted to West Berkshire Council by Alecta Pensionsforsakring Omsesidigt, with Barton Willmore acting as agents.

The plans also include significant landscaping designs with 25 additional trees, shrub and hedge planting proposed.

A total of 115 car parking spaces will be provided within the application site, including disabled and visitor spaces, and 23 cycle parking spaces.

The application site is at the south west end of Theale Technology Centre and comprises the Usherwood Centre, Units 4 and 5 Theale Technology Park.

A total of 65 leaflets were distributed around the community inviting comments regarding the proposals.

A decision is expected to be made by Wednesday, October 5.
