New café by Mio Fiore opening soon in Newbury town centre where The Flower Pot Café was

A new café is coming soon to Newbury town centre – but with a twist.

The owners of Mio Fiore have taken over The Flower Pot Café, which closed its doors in March.

Director and co-owner Ardita Kurtaj explained the site will remain as a coffee shop, which she hopes will expand on the chain’s signature offerings of authentic Italian food and coffee at its existing restaurants in Inch’s Yard, Newbury, and Hungerford High Street.

She told newburytoday: “We jumped at the opportunity. We’ve been working around the clock since May to set it up.

“We’ve always been big on coffee since we set up Mio Fiore and having that little coffee shop just next to us would make things easier.

“It will make us a bit more visible and expand on our coffee brand as well.

“I know there are a lot of coffee shops in town, so we will expand on what we do best, our coffee brand and also the food.

“We want to keep it simple and easy because we realise that during the morning and lunchtime periods people are busy working, so they want something convenient and fast.

“We’ll be making our own paninis, pastries and cakes and we’ll bring our tiramisu and salads, but with an Italian twist.”

The café will open later this month. No exact date has been announced yet.
