New CCTV footage of Pangbourne theft released
The first incident, a theft, happened at around 5pm on Saturday, January 14, in the car park of the Co-op, in The Square, Pangbourne.
The victim, a 47-year-old woman from Tilehurst, was pushing her trolley through the car park when her handbag was stolen.
Police are keen to trace the woman in this CCTV image (pictured) as she may have information that could help progress the investigation.
The second incident is a robbery which happened in the same location at around 3pm on Monday, January 16.
The victim, a 78 year-old woman from Whitchurch, was walking through the car park, having been shopping in the store, when a man grabbed the strap of her handbag and pulled it causing her to fall over.
He continued to pull at the strap until the victim had to let go, and then ran off with the bag leaving the victim with a bruised shoulder.
Police are keeping an open mind about whether the two incidents are linked.
