Honesty Group to open new coffee shop in Newbury's Parkway Shopping centre

A new Honesty coffee shop will be opening in Newbury.

The Honesty Group – which already runs coffee shops at Beale Park, Saddleback Farm Shop, The Base in Greenham, Herongate Club and in Donnington, Inkpen, Kingsclere, Hungerford, Basingstoke and Overton – will be opening the doors to its latest venture in Parkway Shopping centre.

The coffee shop will be taking over the unit vacated at the end of last year by Costa.

The café is expected to open in early March and is the company’s first venture into a town centre.

A statement from the group said: “It is definitely the right step as we are confident that our strong values and the quality of our food will appeal to the wider population.

“We are also a local and independent business and are very pleased that our new landlords are so keen for us to be part of the Parkway offering.

“Creating distinct high streets and town centres that encourage small, independent involvement is definitely the way forward as far as we are concerned.”

The café is expected to feature a "grab and go" section for those in a rush and the group said all of its products, including pastries, cakes, paninis, sandwiches, soups, stews, hot pots and salads, will be available.

The coffee shop will be over two floors and work to convert the unit is already under way.

The company’s design team, 03 Interiors of Pangbourne, will be “aiming to create a relaxing and attractive environment that will suit those meeting socially and those wanting to work”.

The opening will also see a number of new jobs created.
