New communications mast to be installed in Hungerford

A TELECOMMUNICATIONS pole in Hungerford is going to be replaced with one almost 6m taller.

Notice has been given that an existing, 12.5m pole will be replaced by an 18m high installation supporting six antennae with a wraparound equipment cabinet at the base of the column and three additional equipment cabinets.

The site is on the grass verge of Charnham Park, where the existing mast is pictured.

MBNL undertakes the management and network deployment of telecommunications sites on behalf of both EE (UK) Ltd and Three (UK) Ltd/H3G (UK) Ltd.

A covering letter sent to West Berkshire planners states: "It will deliver public benefit in terms of the mobile services it will provide."
