New electric vehicle charging point installed in Thatcham

Thatcham is one of six locations to have received a new electric vehicle charging point.

West Berkshire Council has allocated a network of public charging points across the district.

The Thatcham Gilbert Court (East) Public Car Park has been selected as one of the designated locations.

The charging points have been installed in conjunction with Mer, a European electric car charging company.

This is to meet the growing number of electric vehicles and the demand for charging amenities.

West Berkshire Council has said that this will be the next step towards becoming a more sustainable district.

It hopes to encourage the uptake of low emission vehicles.
