New faces at Thatcham pub

Geoff Minter and Gemma McDonald say they want to bring familiarity and fresh food to The Mill House Inn

THERE is a new couple behind the bar at The Mill House Inn, Thatcham.

Gemma McDonald, aged 29, and Geoff Minter, aged 36, have take over as landlords of the pub in Bradley-Moore Square, and say that they hope to bring a new family feel to the place.

They have already extended the dining area and Miss McDonald said that people should expect more improvements in the New Year.

Mr Minter will run the kitchen and said that he will be using local and fresh produce, which he hopes will be a good selling point for customers.

Miss McDonald said: “We are going to be investing in the pub to bring it up to date.

There have been a lot of holding managers in the past but we want consistency so that people know who they are going to see.

“There have been broken promises here before, but people just want someone to do what they said they were going to do and that's what we are going to do.

“We want to keep the familiarity.

“We are looking forward to it; we are really eager to get going.”
