New flood warnings for Goring and Streatley and Purley

Among those affected were the Swan hotel, in Streatley, where the hotel remained open for business today (Wednesday) despite submerged grounds and car park, the hotel has confirmed, with water lapping at the patio and sandbags at the ready.
Karl Bentley, the Swan Hotel's general manager, said alternative parking arrangements had been made for guests:
"I wouldn’t say the current situation is commonplace but we are certainly prepared for it and it won’t affect our business," said Mr Bentley, adding the hotel had become a vantage point to take photographs of the flooding, resulting in increased trade.
Goring Gap Boat Club has confirmed in a Tweet that the club’s site is completely flooded.
Properties in Purley were also flooded, with roads closed in the village, according to reports.
Reports have also been received that the Swan pub in Pangbourne is also affected.
Pangbourne parish councillor, Robert Holden, confirmed the River Thames had flooded meadows in the village, affecting the recreation ground and the playground was submerged, with no roads in the village currently affected.
The Environment Agency today (Wednesday) issued flood warnings - more severe in nature than a flood alert - for the River Thames at Goring and Streatley and also in Purley village.
A flood alert for the River Enborne and Foundry Brook was lifted yesterday (Tuesday), but flood alerts remain in place for the River Kennet and its tributaries from Berwick Bassett down to Newbury.
This includes Marlborough, Ramsbury, Hungerford, Denford, Kintbury and Newbury. Also the River Og, the River Aldbourne, the Froxfield Stream, the River Dun and the River Shalbourne.
A new flood alert has been issued for the River Kennet from Thatcham to Reading.
A flood alert is also in place on the River Pang, from East Ilsley to Pangbourne, including Compton, Hampstead Norreys, Frilsham, Bucklebury, Stanford Dingley, Bradfield and Tidmarsh and the Sulham Brook, from Theale to Pangbourne, including Sulham.
Further flood alerts are in place on the River Thames and its tributaries, from Days Lock, to above Pangbourne and on the River Thames from Pangbourne to Purley.
