New format for Great Shefford parish assembly

The event takes place as usual in the Village Hall on Thursday, April 18 at 7pm.
However this year, instead of inviting representatives of local organisations and committees to speak for up to three minutes, with members of the public seated to listen to them, organisers are adopting an exhibition style.
Each organisation will have a table or stand and will provide a display if appropriate.
This means that members of the public and representatives of the other organisations can walk round and see what everyone does and then spend more time asking questions, collecting information where their interest lies.
It is also designed to provide more opportunities for local people to talk to each other than the previous format.
The local Brownie troupes are helping to host the event as usual, which will help them towards gaining badges for community work.
Among those confirmed to attend so far are several village organisations, district and parish councillors plus representatives from the neighbourhood police team and West Berkshire Council’s rural housing team.
Local residents are encouraged to support the eveny by attending and everyone entering the Village Hall on the evening will be entered into a free draw for a £20 Marks and Spencer gift voucher.
If you represent a local organisation or group and you wish to be invited, contact parish clerk Sandi Ackrill, either via email at email parishclerk@greatshefford.org.uk or by telephone on 01488 648 605
