New home for Hungerford Rotary
For around a decade the club has used The Bear Hotel as its base but it is now closed for refurbishment.
Club president Annabel King said: “We’ve returned to our old home right in the centre of Hungerford. This will mean we’re right at the heart of Hungerford life, enabling us to participate even more fully in the community and providing service to the town.”
The club’s inaugural meeting at The Three Swans was attended by Hungerford mayor Martin Crane and his wife, Virginia, plus the Constable of of the Town and Manor, Susan Hofgartner.
During the meeting a cheque for £500 was given to two representatives of Help for Heroes, who spoke movingly of the traumas both physical and mental suffered by British soldiers in Afghanistan.
