New Lidl store opens on London Road Retail Park

Newbury’s new Lidl opened today (Thursday) at the London Road Retail Park.

The store has replaced the existing Lidl on the corner of London Road and Faraday Road, which closed yesterday (Wednesday) at 10pm.

It comes with a larger in-store bakery, customer toilet with baby changing facilities, new rapid electric vehicle charging points as well as an enhanced cycle provision.

The store is to create 10 additional jobs as well as retaining the colleagues from the previous store.

This is a part of the company’s ongoing £1.3bn expansion and regeneration plan.

Lidl GB’s regional head of property James Mitchell said: “It is fantastic that we are able to open our doors and welcome everyone into our new store in Newbury.

“We are delighted to be able to improve our offering and deliver even more of our high quality and affordable produce to the local community.

“We would like to thank all those who have played a part in delivering this new store and now look forward to welcoming everyone through our new doors.”

The store opening times are between 8am and 10pm Monday to Saturday and 10am and 4pm on Sundays.
