Photographer's Hungerford show focuses on colour manipulation
Pete Halewood's first exhibition of photographic work is currently running at The Riverside Suite at The Bear Hotel, Hungerford. Most of the photographs have been manipulated using the HDR technique (high dynamic range), where different exposures (typically three) of the same scene are blended together using computer software. This process extends the light range that a camera can capture in one shot, but also, to a greater or lesser extent, pushes colour, hue, tone and contrast to extremes, beyond naturalist boundaries. The work on show includes familiar local scenes, literally presented in a new light.
