New local brew to be launched
The imagery surrounding the promotion reflects the infamous 19th century hanging at Combe Gibbet, immortalised in John Slesinger’s first ever film, Black Legend.
The ale has already won an award, being voted best beer in a competition at Brewlab in Sunderland.
The brewery, which started up late last year, is situated on the site where the Roundheads camped the night before the Battle of Newbury and uses its own water from a borehole sunk deep into the Berkshire chalk.
The brewer also uses some of the wild hops found in the farm’s hedgerows.
The new ale, available exclusively at the Crown and Garter, will be officially launched on Wednesday, March 7, when all the Two Cocks brews will be available for testing.
