New man at the wheel for Hungerford Rotary
He is local businessman James Podger, who is also a district councillor for the town and a governor at John O’Gaunt School.
He was formally installed at a club gathering in a riverside Hungerford country garden.
Past President Annabel King handed over the chain of office to him for the next 12 months.
Fellow Rotarians showed their appreciation to Mrs King for all her hard work in the past year with a huge cheer.
On her watch during the past 12 months the club has raised more than £16,000 for local and international charities and enjoyed great fund raising events, often featuring wine, food and music.
Mr Podger promised members that the club will continue to organise some great entertainment in his year as president, while raising funds for worthy causes.
Mr Podger announced that he intended to particularly feature the Mary Hare School in his fund raising appeals.
