New man on the beat in Hungerford
He is Sgt Paul Morgan, a 44-year-old father of two.
Sgt Morgan is an experienced officer, having served for 17 years in the Slough area of Berkshire, mainly in CID.
For the preceding three years he has been based in Bracknell, Berkshire.
Pc Drewitt said: “Paul is keen to meet with the community but this will obviously take a while, due to the size of the area.”
Sgt Morgan said: “We’re going to be having a hard look at rural crime and will be looking to do some operations in that regard.
“We already do some big, cross border stuff but these will be more localised.
“In addition we’ll continue to crack down on drug use in the area and will be seeking to work increasingly with licensees. Speeding in areas like Kintbury and Inkpen, as well as Hungerford, will also be a priority.”
Meanwhile the team has said goodbye to PCSO Adam Burson.
Pc Drewitt said: “He has left to join up as a police constable, based in the Reading Area. We wish him the very best of luck.”
