Thatcham Town Council elects new mayoral team




A new mayor has been elected for Thatcham.

On Sunday, May 12, councillor Suzanne Adamantos was elected mayor of Thatcham, with her husband Micky as her consort, at a ceremony at Frank Hutchings Community Hall.

And councillor Petra Pemberton was elected deputy mayor, with her husband Justin chosen as her consort.

Both the mayor and deputy mayor first became Thatcham town councillors in 2023 and are now delighted to be able to serve their community in such a role.

Mrs Adamantos said: “I am so proud to have been elected mayor of Thatcham for this year.

“To be able to serve my community, attend some brilliant events and raise money and awareness for charities which mean so much to me is a special thing. I am excited to get started.”

Mrs Adamantos has chosen Thatcham Youth and Cruse Bereavement Support to be this year’s Mayor’s Charities and will be working throughout the year to raise funds and awareness for both.

Invitations will be dealt with on a first come basis and the mayor will strive to accommodate where possible.
