New minibus for The Castle School

Miss England finalist, Amanda James, presented the school with a new minibus that will help wheelchair users

A MISS England finalist has presented a West Berkshire special school with a new minibus which will help the school's wheelchair users.

The Castle School in Love Lane, Newbury, was donated the 17-seater bright blue bus by children's charity, Variety Club.

The bus, which has an electronic tail lift to assist with wheelchair users, was presented to the school by Miss England finalist, Angela James, on Wednesday.

Jon Hewitt, the school's newly appointed headteacher, said: “I'm over the moon with the new bus and for the continued interest and support of the Variety Club and its sponsor Pieroth Wines of Luton.”

The new bus is in addition to a previous minibus donated from the Variety Club in 2003 which the school still uses.
