NEW:MUSIC Bands night with a bonus

Free guitar giveaway at Saturday's gig

THIS Saturday’s NEW:MUSIC Showcase at the Corn Exchange (7pm) features a line-up of four music acts: Elasea, All Ears Now, This Is Shark Country and Origami Heart. Once again, thanks to Hogan Music, there will be a give-away of a brand new guitar via a free-to-enter raffle. One lucky member of the audience will take away the prize on the night, at no extra cost. Tickets are £5 in advance, or £8 on the door.
NEW:MUSIC is an unsigned music promotion project based in Newbury, with the main aim of providing regular events at high quality venues and forging links with local business and the wider community.
Here’s the low-down on the bands:

ELASEA: Newbury-based band, Andy Bradford, Calum Radmore, Liv Jones, Ashley Haskell and Braydie Haskell. In the past year they have been playing shows up and down the UK, but on Saturday they will be playing their home town. So what does it mean to Elasea? “Playing in Newbury is always so much fun for us. The Corn Exchange is a great venue and we’ve had some fantastic times playing there in the past. The guys at NEW:MUSIC always do a great job organising the shows and we feel privileged to be involved in an event like this, especially as it’s in our home town. NEW:MUSIC has got some great bands on the line-up so it’s definitely not a show to miss,” says Andy Bradford (lead vocals and rhythm guitar).
THIS IS SHARK COUNTRY: through extensive gigging and intense rehearsing, This is Shark Country have supremely tuned their live show, which has seen them hit venues from Leeds to the Isle of Wight, and everywhere in between, sharing stages with ’68 (ex Norma Jean), Nexilva, Palm Reader, Exist Immortal, and more. In 2013, the southern riff lords released their debut album and the record attracted strong interest from Kerrang Radio’s Alex Baker, who featured them as unsigned band of the week on his show and Front magazine column. The metal DJ said: “I put it in the CD player and was absolutely blown away. My mind melted into fragments, into my cup of coffee, and I drank the fragments of my mind. That’s how good it was.”
The band says: “This will be our first show in more than a year and for this to be a home town show makes it pretty special for us, especially to be back at the Corn Exchange. We all grew up watching our favourite bands back in the days of Salvage, so to be back on the same stage is pretty nostalgic for us.”

ALL EARS AVOW: “WE’RE really excited to be playing at The Corn Exchange – some of us grew up attending gigs there, and it’s really humbling to be offered the chance to perform at such a great venue; especially as we’re sharing the stage with some good friends of ours.”

All Ears Avow are an English rock band from Wiltshire that began in early 2013. The quartet quickly began gigging around the UK, releasing their debut EP Home in December 2013. Throughout 2014 and into 2015, All Ears Avow continued a hectic tour schedule supporting acts including Decade, The Computers, Empire, Verses and Jonah Matranga (Far), as well as performing in Berlin, Barcelona and headlining the Pomme stage at the renowned Wychwood Festival. After two successful UK tours during 2015 and taking part in a BBC Introducing live studio session, All Ears Avow kicked off 2016 supporting Milk Teeth at their album launch show and releasing their second EP Reach in February.
The band are back out on the road in December and are currently working on new music.

ORIGAMI HEART: “WE were really stoked when we were approached at our last gig and asked to play the Corn Exchange this year. The venue looks amazing and the line-up is really impressive, so we could’t wait to open the show and get the crowd hyped! The fact it comes justbefore Hallowe’en gives us all an extra reason to get out and party. This night will also be a special night for us as we’ll be unleashing our new frontman, Dan, for the very first time. So no pressure...”
