New "no cold calling" zones added

Audrey Needham House in Newbury and Nevil Court in Thatcham are to become the first supported housing locations in West Berkshire to become No Cold Calling zones.

Scheme manager Julie Maidment said: “The decision to make these homes a No Cold Calling zone has been welcomed by residents.

“It is a positive step towards ensuring that people who live here are not bothered by nuisance callers and stand less chance of falling prey to scams.”

Sean Murphy, trading standards manager at West Berkshire Council, said: “This is the first time we have worked with a housing provider to set up such a scheme. We look forward to working together with A2 Dominion to ensure that traders comply with the will of the residents.”

Audrey Needham House has 39 flats and Nevil Court has 52, both run by A2 Dominion.
