Cedars Day Nursery and Pre-School opening in Aldermaston
A new nursery is opening in Aldermaston next month, filling the vacant site left by an independent school that closed down during the pandemic.
Cedars Day Nursery and Pre-School will be opening its doors to children in Aldermaston and the surrounding areas on Tuesday, May 3, after renovations have been made to the historic school building in which it resides.
Built in the 1700s, the Church Road site was home to the independent primary Cedars School from 1992 until its closure last year.
The new nursery’s manager Jane Ives said: “We are thrilled to give this building a second lease of life in this picturesque village.
“You do get the feeling that hundreds of children across the years have loved their time here and we are determined to keep that going.
"With children filling the rooms once more, we’re looking forward to continuing the building’s legacy.”
Cedars Day Nursery and Pre-School is run by Complete Childcare, which operates 15 day nurseries across Berkshire.
Cedars has already become the head office and flagship site for the childcare company.

Ms Ives said: “It’s such a spacious building, it’s always really exciting when a new nursery opens and you can see a space being enjoyed by children.
"Seeing their faces light up as they play with the new toys, all whilst being inside such a beautiful building makes us feel very lucky to be here.”
