Pastor's Farm Produce opened its doors in Wharf Street last week

NEWBURY has a brand new organic vegetable and farm shop, with the majority of the produce sourced locally.

Pastor's Farm Produce in Wharf Street, which opened its doors for the first time last week, stocks everything from carrots to milk, cereal and locally produced chutney.

The owners of the shop, Eduard and Jagoda Pastor, said their first-born child served as the spark for their entrepreneurial spirit.

Mrs Pastor said: “I never used to care what I put in my body, but when I became pregnant, realised how important it is to live healthy. The problem was, I couldn't find organic, locally sourced produce anywhere.”

The Pastors say they are still in the process of securing local sources for certain products, such as milk, but that they eventually want to source as much as possible from the area surrounding Newbury.
