New owner and chef Auror Kalivaci found for The Dolphin pub at 113 Bartholomew Street in Newbury

A new owner and chef has been secured for a popular town centre pub.

The Dolphin at 113 Bartholomew Street has found a new leaseholder, described by specialist business property adviser Christie & Co as a “former seasoned chef in London” who hopes “to usher in a new era of culinary excellence and community spirit”.

Italian chef Auror Kalivaci – formerly of The Breakfast Club and mobile catering business The Pizza Project – and his team are eager to “create a fabulous new dining experience” in the heart of Newbury.

Mr Kalivaci said: “The decision to leave the bustling city life behind and establish roots in Newbury was driven by our collective desire to create something truly special.

“We envision The Dolphin not just as a pub, but as a culinary haven where every dish tells a story and every patron feels like family.

“I will lean into my Italian roots to help create a new menu which we know the local community will love.”

Outgoing tenant Ed Turner reflected fondly on his tenure at The Dolphin.

He said: “It has been an honour to serve the Newbury community, and I am confident that Auror and his team will continue to uphold the traditions of warmth and hospitality that define this beloved pub.”
