New restaurants coming to Newbury

Bella Italia, Slug and Lettuce and American burger bar set to open in town in coming months

THREE new eateries are coming to Newbury... and another has recently opened.

Stonegate Pubs has submitted plans to turn the Hogshead, in the Market Place, into the well- known food-led pub brand Slug and Lettuce.

Meanwhile, a separate application has been submitted to turn Spanish chain restaurant La Tasca– also in the Market Place – into Bella Italia, another restaurant chain.

Another planning application has been submitted to bring 7 Bone, a US Gourmet Burger Restaurant, to Newbury. If plans are approved it will be located in Bridge Street in the building formerly occupied by Oldbury’s delicatessen.

People will be able to tuck in to imaginative and humorously-named burgers such as Ronald’s Revenge, Franks a Wiener, Dirty Linda or Juicy Boris.

Mio Fiore, an independent Italian restaurant located in Inch’s Yard, opened earlier this month.
