New Sainsbury's service station opens on Andover Road, Newbury

THE NEW Sainsbury's petrol station and Local store on Andover Road was officially opened by the chairman of the West Berkshire Foodbank, Andrew Bruce, this morning. It replaces the former Total petrol station that was demolished earlier this year, and has created more than 20 jobs, the majority of which have been filled locally. Store manager Matt Cook said at the opening: "A lot of work has gone into it and there has been a lot of support from the area. "We had people waiting at the door to come in. "It's going to be absolutely brilliant." Mr Bruce said: "The West Berkshire Foodbank loves Sainsbury's because it has been our number one donor. "We are about loving, caring, giving and sharing and Sainsbury's share those values." The service station is open from 7am to 10pm Monday to Saturday and 7.30am to 9pm on Sundays.
