Proposal for new takeaway and flats at Theale High Street submitted




Four new flats and a takeaway have been proposed at Theale High Street.

Theale property developer TA Fisher & Sons Ltd has submitted a change of use application to West Berkshire Council to convert empty ground floor offices at Crown House, 1A High Street, into a takeaway.

Customer access would be directly from the High Street, with a separate access round the back for employees and deliveries.

The proposal also includes three one-bed studio flats on the first floor and one two-bed flat on the second floor, within the roof space.

These would be accessed from the existing staircase at the back of the building.

The building is not listed but is located close to two which are.

It is not considered to be within an area susceptible to surface water flooding, so would continue to utilise the existing drainage measures.

Three car parking spaces would be removed, leaving a total of 10, and storage for six bicycles would be added.

The district council is expected to decide on the application by Friday, April 4.
