Hamstead Marshall residents are enjoying their new bus shelter and information point
Village residents have made full use of their new and restored bus shelter.
The new bus stop, located at Ash Tree Corner in Hamstead Marshall, was installed in April.
And the feedback since has been excellent, says parish council chairman Anne Budd.
“The feedback from those parishioners who ride the transit has been very positive,” she said.
“In particular, the added side features give a more enclosed feeling during inclement weather.
“Parishioners who have kindly contacted me have said it has been in keeping with our village.”
Village residents Paul Hansen and Chris Moss constructed the new bus stop from his own design.
Mr Moss donated new notice boards and helped Mr Hansen to dismantle the old dilapidated structure.
The pair had previously added struts and other reinforcements to support the collapsing bus shelter.
But they then decide to restore it as a vital transport link and community space.
The new structure includes a free mini-library, local history and information boards and more.
